OUR STORY AND THE TRUE SENTIMENT BEHIND SENDING  ‘A TOAST IN THE POST’

We launched ‘A Toast in the Post’ during the 2020 pandemic as our exhibition business, Love Expo was forced on hold.  We had the idea five years prior to launching but never had the opportunity to move forward with it.   Not one’s to just sit and hope that Covid wasn’t going to stay beyond 6 months, we made steps to set up A Toast in the Post, and thank goodness we did as our exhibition business remained closed for almost 2 years.   We are a husband and wife team but David has since returned to the exhibition business so I run this with our wonderful team member, Loren.

The idea initially came to us when we were unable to attend a funeral of a relative and we wanted to send a treasured photo on a message card along with a tipple so that we could raise a glass on the day of the funeral, from afar.

We spent 9 months in lockdown setting up the business, as a great deal of time went into designing the 100% recyclable packaging and launched in November 2020.

In our first year we won Theo Paphitis’s #SBS (Small Business Sunday) Twitter competition and met the man himself.  We have been Finalists for the Enterprise Vision Awards,  the Micro Business Awards UK, and the Lancashire Red Rose Awards.   We were also selected to be part of Small Business 100 which included an invitation to the House of Lords, and won a Kitchen Table Entrepreneur grant run by the Sun newspaper and Camelot.  In February 2022 Jacqueline Gold announced we were one of her top 3 winners of 2021 and I was invited for a mentoring lunch with 2 other small business winners and Jacqueline, it was an absolute highlight and an afternoon I’ll treasure.

We now feature on Not On the High Street and Yumbles and offer a personal corporate gifting service.

A Toast in the Post is perfect for those many moments in life when you can’t always be together, but wish to “stay close” with family, friends and colleagues.  Our ‘toasts’ are bursting with sentiment as the tipple is chosen by you, and is sent with a personalised message which can feature either a personal photo or you can choose from our range of predesigned cards.  The perfect gift for any occasion, or a ‘just because’ gift to let someone know you are thinking of them.

MULTIPLE TOASTS BEING DELIVERED TO ONE ADDRESS

If you are sending more than one toast to one address the postage will increase by £1.50 for each item to cover postage costs.

For example:

1 x toast: Standard rate | 2 x toasts: Standard rate +£1.50 | 3 x toasts: Standard rate + £3.00. | 4 x toasts: Standard rate + £4.50

These costs are automatically updated at checkout to reflect the number of toasts added to basket.

Please note:

Orders for same day dispatch must be received by 12 noon on a working day.

Working days are Monday-Friday.  Orders received after 12 noon on a Friday will be dispatched the following Monday.
