10 months in and we are incredibly proud of our achievements to date!
We’ve gone from running an exhibition and wedding business for more than two decades, to setting up an e-commerce website in the few months. But we are so pleased we took the plunge and turned the pandemic into something more positive and create a business with longevity. Since launching 10 months ago we have entered various awards national and local to help raise the profile of our new business and we are overwhelmed with our achievements and wanted to share them with you all!
First up, in our first month into launching – and we launched direct into the fast flow of Christmas! – we won two national Twitter competitions for small businesses and became “Queen of Toasts” as well as a #SmartSocial award and been welcomed into 2 fabulous groups of small businesses all of whom support one another on Twitter.
Secondly, 6 weeks into trading we tweeted Theo Paphitis in his weekly Small Business Sunday #SBS twitter competition. Hundreds of small businesses enter and if he takes a liking to your tweet and your business, Theo hand picks you as a winner and retweets your winning tweet to his 485K followers! Here is our winning tweet and we are now part of a brilliant network of fellow #SBS winners.
A few weeks later we entered Jacqueline Gold’s Women on Wednesday (#WOW) competition and now A Toast in the Post is part of that Twitter group too! Being a new business having this support on twitter, and ongoing, really does make a difference!
Finally, we entered three other business awards and although the results haven’t yet announced, to have been selected as Finalists is an incredible achievement.
Enterprise Vision Awards – EVAS2021
Outside London, the EVAS are the largest business awards dedicated solely to women who are leading the way in their industries or are building businesses that are not only judged on turnover, but creativity, ethics, passion and commitment. It was an honour to have been nominated and overwhelming to have been selected as a Finalist. The awards event is on Friday 24th September.
Micro Business Awards – Start Up Star
We saw the details for this on Linked In and applied for the Start Up Star Category. After receiving the news we were finalists we submitted the final stage of our application and opted to do it in video format – never done this before but we thought it would be easier to show our wares than a written presentation – it was quite a challenge in itself! The results are announced in November.
Red Rose Awards #RRA2021
The Red Rose Award celebrates Lancashire businesses!
It takes a great deal of time and though to enter these awards, and we were very, very last minute entering the NEW BUSINESS category, due to work commitments. The application was submitted with minutes to go before the deadline! But my goodness we are so glad we did enter to learn we had been selected as Finalists is incredible! The awards event is in November.
Whatever the results will be we are so proud to have this recognition and selected as Finalists!
