Creating stylish 100% recyclable packaging proved a real challenge but we are delighted with the end result!
When in the early stages of setting up A Toast in the Post we were adamant that our packaging must be be 100% recyclable. The aim for the packaging was to ensure that there is an element of surprise and intrigue yet when the chosen tipple is revealed it is presented prominently and perfectly placed as a gift should be presented.
We could have saved a great deal of time and money sourcing plastic alternatives or perhaps opted for recyclable shredded paper but the recyclability was key as is the presentation of the gift. We spent many months during lockdown prototyping and testing each insert and making numerous adaptations to strengthen the packaging.
The recyclability of our packaging has been well received by our customers and makes all the product development so worthwhile.
Our Signature Boxes
We launched with two box sizes, both in elephant grey with ‘Someone is thinking of you…” printed on the outside to reiterate the thoughtfulness of this personalised gift. There is also a recycling logo as a gentle knudge to the recipient to recycle the box.
The user then pulls the perforation on the front of the box to reveal the personalised photo message card and message while the tipple remains hidden by a flap which they flip open to reveal the tipple they have been gifted.
That little extra…
If you want to order your ‘toast’ in advance of a date we offer a service whereby if you add the required date at Checkout we will apply a ‘Do Not Open Until…’ sticker to your toast box. It means you can be super organised and your lucky recipient will save opening the gift before the required date!
